Daniel Barrantes

Postgraduate Student

My name is Daniel Gerald Orbegoso Barrantes and I am a visiting student at the Cyber-Human Lab, where I’m going to carry out my Master’s Thesis. My investigation aims to understand the feasibility of implementing dimensionality reduction methodologies in pose comparison problems in computer vision, by developing a deep learning-based model. I hold a Computer Science Engineering degree from the University of Alcalá de Henares (Madrid). Along with my Master studies I am working as a Data Engineer / Data Scientist at Lufthansa Industry Solutions in Frankfurt.

Apart from technology, I have a passion for music, sports, dancing and photography. I have practiced Karate for many years and currently I’m training in Boxing. I enjoy playing the guitar, the piano and singing. In my free time I like to use my camera to record videos or take portraits of people. Additionally, whenever I get the chance, I enjoy dancing latin rhythms music like Salsa or Bachata
