Christine Saeedi-Givi is a doctoral researcher supervised by Prof. Thomas Bohné and Dr. Slawomir Tadeja. She studies how personalised, AI-supported training can help people develop higher-order cognitive skills for industrial work while preventing cognitive offloading.

She studied psychology at the University of Konstanz and in the UK, supported by the Foundation of the German Economy, before moving into the HCI field. At Mercedes-Benz, she worked on AR object tracking. During her bachelor’s thesis and subsequent work as a research assistant at CHL, she studied how expertise affects responses to over- and under-warning from computer-vision-based error detection, as well as multimodal workload-aware systems.  Her work has led to several peer-reviewed publications and a Best Paper Honourable Mention at IEEE ISMAR 2024.

Her PhD is supported by a Harding Distinguished Postgraduate Scholarship and a UKRI ESRC studentship. Christine is active in Cambridge’s startup community through Cambridge i-Teams and the FemTech committee. She is also involved in teaching experimental methods and welcomes contact from researchers with shared interests.
