Jan Helmich, a valuable member of CHL and also a talented sportsman was awarded the German Paralympic Team of the Year award last year for his rowing successes in this season. The German Paralympic Team of the Year award is essentially the highest honour which the paralympic association can bestow upon athletes on a national level. The achievements throughout the year included a win at the World Rowing Cup II in Poznan, Poland; Bronze at the European Championships in Munich and Silver at the World Championships in Racice.
