Jan Helmich

Doctoral Researcher

Jan is a PhD Student under the supervision of Dr. Thomas Bohné. As part of the Cyber-Human Lab he investigates the possibilities of digital humans, AR, and motion capture for helping the future of work. In particular, the research focus is on how virtual instructors can be utilised to facilitate the training of movements. He holds a BA (Hons) in Computer Science and an MPhil in Industrial Systems, Manufacture and Management, both from the University of Cambridge. During that time, he has focussed heavily on Computer Vision, Augmented Reality and Human-Computer Interaction (HCI). When not working, Jan is involved with the German Paralympic rowing team and has participated in numerous international competitions over the years.
