Svenja Schäfer is a visiting student at the Cyber-Human Lab, where she is completing her Master’s degree through a research project. Under the supervision of Dr. Thomas Bohné, she focuses on optimizing digital training in service companies and exploring the potential of augmented reality technologies.
With a B.Sc. in Management and Technology from the Technical University of Munich (TUM), Svenja has cultivated a keen interest in interdisciplinary teamwork and entrepreneurship. Her academic journey includes an exchange semester at the National University of Singapore, where she specialized in venture capital and entrepreneurship, and another exchange semester at the National Taiwan University in Taipei.
Prior to joining the Cyber-Human Lab, Svenja gained extensive experience in the insurance industry, starting with an apprenticeship as an insurance saleswoman. This was followed by positions in a mobility start-up, several consulting firms and venture capital. She also worked in product management at the German government’s DigitalService GmbH, where she was involved in major digital transformation projects.
Additionally, Svenja actively participated in the “Manage and More” entrepreneurship program at UnternehmerTUM, where she co-founded a startup to enable sustainable decisions in the construction industry by tracking CO2 emissions.
Outside her professional and academic pursuits, Svenja is an avid sportswoman who enjoys playing tennis, hiking in the mountains, and swimming, and is currently training for her first marathon.
